I am back and just in time for the summer heat. Since I am a natural girl, when it comes to the summer, I'm just trying to stay cute and cool. This is the time to put my hair away and let it rest. Realistically, no one has the time to style their hair for it to just frizz up when the humidity sets in. That is why I thought it was time for an alternative option. Due to some previous bad hair experiences, I've been hesitant to try certain styles and skeptical of who I let in my hair. Anytime I do braids, I do them myself. I have had them professionally done once in about 5 years.
The opportunity recently arose for me to try a headband wig by LUVMEHAIR. Their ads had continuously kept popping up on my Instagram feed, so it was something I had already been thinking about. I had already been dibbling and dabbing with wigs for the past few years. But, what's so great about this concept is that it is perfect for those of us that like to change it up at the drop of a hat and also do not like sleeping with a wig on. After doing my own research and looking at reviews, I was all for trying one out.
I received the "Loose Deep Wave" Headband Wig in 14 inches. The link is included down at the bottom of the post. Sweat is second nature to me in the summer so I went with a shorter length, but they do have longer options. When buying hair from online retailers, I know most people are skeptical of some of the following things; quality/texture, comfortability, and versatility.
Quality/Texture:
The quality of the hair is great. There is very minimal shedding. I have only experienced a bit during combing through the hair while washing. You can wash, apply heat to the hair, and not worry it about loosing its curl or original texture. Above I have included pictures of the hair after washing and when it drys. The curls just revert right back. The natural curls in this loose deep wave wig are A+. The volume and definition are everything that I could have asked for. They use Brazilian, 100% human hair.
Comfortability:
The circumference of the cap is medium sized at 22in. For someone with a big head like me, its a perfect fit. The cap also comes with combs, an elastic band, and adjustable straps for a fit made to your liking. Mostly, I rely on the elastic band because that alone keeps it in place. I use the combs when I need a more secure fit. The headband part of the wig is what I find to be the most comfortable since it takes away the stress from your edges.
Versatility:
You may doubt the versatility and styling options of this wig, but honestly, it does what needs to be done. There are numerous options available such as half up/halfdown, up-dos, ponytails, or whatever you can dream up. Do not think you are just stuck with one style. As mentioned previously, you can curl or straighten as well. For those skilled in the art of hair, you can even color it. The great thing about LUVMEHAIR is that my wig actually came with 5 different color headband options so that you can change it up depending on your style and mood. (Also came with a pack of wig caps, an edge comb, extra elastic band, and a hair clip)
Overall, if you are looking for a a quick and easy low maintenance style, it should be the headband wig by LUVMEHAIR. I would not vouch for it, if I did not truly love and enjoy it.
