Subtle Ways to Introduce Color into your Spring Wardrobe

Well Hello there Loves!

I am back and just in time for Spring! Soooo, I have noticed, while scrolling along my social feeds, that everyone is not a fan of color. This is not the first time that I have come to this realization. This was also something apparent when styling people in person, while working in retail. There are some that tend to stick to blacks and grays and are hesitant to add color into their wardrobe. If they do add color, then it tends to be on the darker end. Well! I am here today to let you know some SIMPL3 ways that you can introduce some color into your wardrobe. Of course they are baby steps, as I am not trying to drown you in color. I know for some, this is a big step!

Playing with Pastels

When you think of pastels, you think of the Spring. Even though this year, you are seeing much brighter, more vibrant color ways. We are going to stick the pastels for now. First, I would suggest deciding on which colors you are open to wearing. Try something on if you are uncertain. As I have mentioned in previous blogs, you want to be comfortable in what you wear. You can just start with one piece like a shirt and see how that feels. It could even be as simple as trying a lighter color pair of jeans. There is no need to jump head first in color. Let's just get your feet wet first. My go-to pastels this season are light blue and pink. Yellows and greens are also nice and lavender is a dream. <3

Pairing with Neutrals

I have found that mixing colors with neutrals is one of the easiest transitions. It makes the colors that you are adding look much more subtle. So you can still have your grey or brown. Try lightening it up a bit wit some tan or creme. I also consider white as a great spring neutral. It goes with everything and will keep your cool during these upcoming warmer months. With neutrals you can start to add some warmer colors in like burnt orange or maybe hot pink.

Add a Pop of Color

If you're really hesitant in adding color, try it first with your accessories. Now is a great time with all the many shoe and sandal options available for Spring and Summer. If not your shoes, then try a bag. If not a bag, then it can be small accessories, like for your hair, socks, a tie, etc. Having a splash of color makes an outfit pop. It is also an easy alternative to adding a color to a look without the feeling of you looking awkward in color or not being used to it. Starting off with an colorful accessory is a great transition into adding more color in your life.

Adding color is not something that you have to do, but these suggestions are here for you should you decide to. This is for the people that I mentioned in the beginning about being hesitant to add color. Some of you may want to, but are not sure how to. Now you have some simple transitional options. Should you have any questions, feel free to comment below or send me a message. Take a look at the photo up top for the Pantone color choices for Spring/Summer 2021 for more color ideas.
