Hello dreamers!! Today I'm going to start off with a little something that I wrote that was inspired by Ms. Nola Darling from "She's Gotta Have It." If you watch the show she created a powerful piece that affects all woman featuring the words, "My Name Is Not..."
I took that and continued and flipped it. Now that we know what my name is not, let me tell you what my name is.
"My name isn't pretty black girl
My name is LOVE
My name is QUEEN
My name is everything you are not
My name is nothing you can possess
My name is ME
My name is LIFE
And I will not give you the satisfaction of calling me anything less!"
Part of a women's strength comes from knowing who she is and owning it. We often seeks ways to perfect ourselves when truth is, no one is perfect and you will never be! No to sound harsh but it's reality. Some of you mind as well embrace what you have, work for what you want, and be YOU, in all your glory!
We are often judged most by our appearances; how we dress, what our hair looks like, our curves. -_- Let's face it we all have curves some we adore, and some we are not so fond of. For instance, I have a gut and we are definitely not friends. But put on some high-waist jeans and some tall leather boots and instantly I'm more confident. I feel sexy, my belly is no longer pronounced and the attention is brought to my legs.
You want to wear stuff that showcases your beauty and MOST IMPORTANTLY fits you correctly. The FIT is key!!! You can be decked out in all the latest fashions and trends, but if it doesn't fit your body correctly you mind as well stay home. I am always one to profess not caring about what others think, about you. It will drive you into loosing yourself. You have to be happy first...remember that! Love Yourself <3
Until next time darlings, Peace & Love XOXO
